AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][9The 8-year-old Morgan was drafted by Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there , and was a key player in the team's win of the league championship. Morgan at the time, who was 22 years aged, was the smallest national player in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and finished second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final match during the 2012 London Olympics. She finished 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. This made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to achieve 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, as well as a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan helped to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
